Indian economy is one of the largest and fastest expanding economies in world. This is the reason that many companies in the West are looking for franchise operators in India. Below are a few guidelines that can help you open up a franchise in India.
- Decide the Indian city that you wish to pen a franchise in. Developed cities will offer better infrastructure and wealthier clients and therefore have more franchise fee. Smaller cities on the other hand will not have so developed infrastructure and the franchise fee will be less.
- Decide the field that you wish to open a franchise in. It is better to stick to filed that you have experience in. You must also try and take a franchise of a well-established brand, unless you have capital to support your larger risks.
- Get in touch with a franchise provider. Register your company with Ministry of Corporate Affairs. If you are not in India, you may take help of an international broker who will be able to handle some major tasks of your franchise business. This broker can handle all your ownership, registration, licensing, and other paperwork. If you are in India, you may complete all formalities on your own.
- Once you take the franchise, employ people with relevant experience and knowledge.
- After you start working, ensure that you comply with all regulatory and tax requirements of India. If you are not a resident of India, you must comply with the tax rules of country you are staying in, along with India.
